Dealmakers Dialogues Warsaw: CEE M&A challenges and opportunities in 2024

Bartek as a Head of M&A/Corporate Development is responsible for M&A projects, strategic options reviews, corporate finance and restructuring projects for the Bank Pekao S.A. Group, which is the second largest bank in Poland in terms of assets. One of his most prized deals he managed is strategic alliance between Bank Pekao S.A. and online payment fintech Tpay. Prior to his current role, he gained his professional experience in advisory. Bartek graduated from Warsaw School of Economics and Wroclaw University of Economics. He is an alumni of Career Program organized by Polish Business Roundtable.

Lawyer by education, Ewa has specialized in sales and business development for 12 years, working with the major players across multiple industries in the CEE. In her career, she held roles in financial services, consulting, and technology companies. Ewa brought Datasite to Poland in 2021 and in no time established Datasite as a preferred VDR provider in the local M&A market.

Joanna has 15 years of investment banking experience. Currently manages M&A department at Play participating in the landmark TMT transactions on the Polish market. She helps with structuring, negotiation, integration planning and deal value creation aspects. Prior to Play, she worked for Trigon, advising both in M&A, IPO and refinancing projects for HNWI, family companies and funds. She is a supervisory board member in several companies, representing TMT sector.

Piotr Noceń is a Co-Founder and Managing Partner in Resource Partners. He has more than 20-year experience in Central European private equity industry. In 2011 – 2018 he was sitting on the Board of Directors of the Polish Private Equity Association (PSIK), including serving as a President between 2014 and 2017. Prior to that, he was Director in The Carlyle Group and Investment Director and Partner in 3TS Capital Partners where he led and co-led investments in telecoms, media and financial services. He also worked at PwC Financial Advisory Services in Warsaw, as part of the Central European team focusing on M&A transactions. Previously he was a Junior Equity Analyst at Deutsche Bank Research.

Monika Dużyńska focuses her practice on corporate law, securities law, merger and acquisition transactions as well as corporate governance issues. She has advised in many inbound and outbound M&A transactions in Poland and throughout Europe, public issues of shares and in public and non-public issues of debt securities of Polish and foreign companies. Prior to joining White & Case, Monika gained experience in the leading international law firms in Paris.

Paweł is a Strategy and Transactions Managing Partner at EY Poland and Transaction Diligence and Sell & Separate Services leader for CESA. He has over 18 years of experience in finance and accounting including 16 years in Transaction Advisory Services offering buy-side and sell-side transaction support. Advising to leading private equity houses, banks and corporate clients. He has completed number of professional trainings on due diligence, corporate finance, restructuring and audit in Poland and abroad.
